Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: When and Where do we meet?

A: 5:30-6:45PM, Monday Nights in The Steinbrenner Band Center. <Resuming in Wi '07!> Here's an Informational Flier, a link to nearby Visitor Parking, and Directions to the stadium. The band center is on the NE side of the stadium around Gate # 10. If you have a university pass of any kind, you can just park in the stadium lots off of Tuttle Park Pl. anywhere after 4PM.

FAQ

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: All you need is a drum pad and some sticks. Bring a friend if you'd like! (If you don't have a pad, we've always got extras around, and if you don't have any friends...well, we can probably help you with that too.)

FAQ

Q: Who's the club open to?

A: Anybody in Ohio.

FAQ

Q: How much are club dues?

A: The Drum Pad Club's meetings are free clinics for everybody.

FAQ

Q: What kind of music do you play?

A: The idea's just to provide a space for DCI style drumming and bring the people here around OSU together who may have been missing out on their college drum line experience because it has only been offered at this university in our especially unique and highly athletic/competitive military style. It's also a great place for us drummers trying out for The OSUMB again in the fall to keep our chops in shape during the off-season.

FAQ

Q: What should I practice?

A: You don't need to come into the club knowing any music in advance. We would like to share what we know with you and at the same time get to know the music that you love to play. If you have some sheet music that you already know or would like to learn, it'd be cool if you brought that in. There will always be someone at the club who knows the stuff found in the sheet music library of this site, so that's a great place to start building a common repertoire.

FAQ

Q: How do I get access to the music? What's the answer to the riddle?

A: Alright, since I'm a nice enough guy, I'll give you a clue, but know this: "Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect." -Woody Hayes
